2001: A Race Odyssey
I signed up with the SCCA's young folk program they had started at the time and if I ever have any regrets later on in life, my number one will probably be (as silly & trivial as it may sound) that I didn't do much of anything to pursue my passion for motorsports. I mean, I'm at VIR for most major events, I worked corners there & crew'd for friends, & I've ran the occasional auto-x, but I've never had real live track time in my car.
This SCCA program was supposed to help you pursue those goals just like that pass was to be stamped each time you worked a corner at VIR and then volunteer time could later be traded in for track time.
But hey, life isn't over and I don't suppose it's time yet to be worrying about a bucket list. One of these days I'll get Bessie up to VIR for more than just a lunch time ride-around.
(Thanks Ma for stumbling onto this, it's nice to find a piece of history you've forgotten about)
