Hideaway
It's funny how memories can attach themselves to a physical place and be seemingly more real than the place itself. A place can become your favorite, or least favorite place to go because of the people you were with when you last visited. They can also hold so many bad memories that they make you avoid a place for years.
I took this photo today of a note my wife scribbled on a wall full of other graffiti on 8/19/07 at a log cabin restaurant out in the country. Everything about it is wrong: the order of our names, the handwriting that normally would have been mine, the way I was hurting the person who loved me enough to scribble my name beside her's on a wall for everyone to see. The decisions you make over the course of a few minutes can affect the rest of your life. Wounds can take years to heal, and even when they've healed they still leave scars.
