It appears that folks in Chicago & Oak Park, Illinois will finally join the rest of the country in being provided all of their rights, specifically their 2nd Amendment rights.
It amazes me that even in an "open carry" state, such as our own NC, that the public can be so (seemingly intentionally) misinformed about something as important as protecting yourself and your family. For example, my grandmother told me she wants my grandfather to carry his firearm while working on their property (a farm in the country) but told me that he would need to take a concealed carry class to do so. Wrong.
Much like the High Point Police Officer who, at a traffic roadblock when I informed him that my firearm was out in the open, on the dash, informed
me that it was dangerous to open carry because it really depends on the opinion of the officer as to whether the firearm is concealed. It was laying on the dash, unholstered. If I were trying to conceal it, I'd like to think I'd find a better hiding spot. His advice was for me to sign up for a concealed carry class. My advice to him would be to re-think his position as someone who is to "protect and serve." Quit terrorizing the general public into signing up to be counted/registered/labeled, and paying you for something they are already allowed to do as provided by our Bill of Rights.
